Our work

More light between rooms

Glass doors separate a space while keeping the daylight and the sense of width. In a flat they can connect the kitchen and the living room; in an office they can divide off a meeting area without creating a dark corridor. Clear or frosted glass is chosen according to whether the emphasis should fall on openness or on privacy.

A sliding design suits openings with too little room for a leaf to swing. Hinged doors give the familiar way of working and can fit a range of layouts. Before deciding we check the width of the passage, the free wall beside the opening, the direction of movement and the existing structure. It is also important to establish the finished floor level in advance so that the clearances stay even.

Material and construction

The intended glass specifications are Tempered float glass 8 mm · Clear or frosted Lamistal laminated glass 4+4 mm. The available hardware finishes are anodised aluminium · matt black. The glass is made to the final survey, including the positions of handles, fixings and any other processing the chosen system requires.

For sliding doors we coordinate the track, the end stops and the space the leaf slides into. For hinged doors we check the supports, the direction of opening and any contact with furniture or walls. Every solution is assessed against the dimensions and the substrate of the particular opening. The door then has a natural path of travel in everyday use, and the visible hardware follows the other materials in the interior.

How it works

  1. Send us photographs of the opening, approximate measurements and how you would like it to open.
  2. At the survey we check the walls, the floor, the room for the leaf to travel and the access for fitting.
  3. We confirm the type of glass, the level of privacy, the hardware and the handle position.
  4. We fit the door, adjust its travel and check the finished work together.
